Learning C++ - May 27, 2008

Well, yesterday I finally started learning C++. It's quite a bit more complicated than Python, but I was able to make a little SDL app! It will eventually evolve into a game where there are enemies that move around, and you have to dodge them while trying to get to the goal. To do this, I need to learn how to use lists and classes, both of which are giving me headaches :(

So anyway, I'll keep you updated on my progress. I'll also upload my source code when I clean it up ;)

One thing I learned; DO NOT USE MICROSOFT VISUAL C++. It's a pain trying to distribute your projects. (believe me, I found it out) So I'm using Code::Blocks for an IDE instead. (Thanks to Cthulhu32 for recommending it)

Anyway, that's all for now! Cheers!

Pixelman 3

Pixelman 3 was my entry for Ludum Dare 11. It features skidding, smooth movement, perfect collisions, sounds, levels, menus... all in one python file! Have fun!

About Me

Me? I'm a teenager who would rather make games than play them. I have currently only made games in Python, but I will soon be making some stuff in Java and C++. I mainly use PyGame (an SDL wrapper written for Python) as a tool for making games, but I've made a game with Pyglet too.

What are my eccentricies? Making thousands of Asteroids games, and tons of different website designs.
